Prepping Your Home for Out of Town Guests

When most people think of February, they might think of Valentine's day, snow, or award show season! But Tucsonans, we know it's out of town guest season. Preparing your home for out of town guests can be a daunting task, but with a little bit of planning, you can make sure that your guests feel comfortable and welcome. Here are some tips to get you started:

  1. Clean and declutter your home. Cleaning and decluttering your home is the first step to getting it ready for guests. Make sure to dust and vacuum, and put away any clutter or unnecessary items to make your home look neat and inviting.

  2. Create a comfortable sleeping space. Make sure to provide a comfortable sleeping space for your guests, such as fresh sheets and blankets, a pillow, and nightstands with lamps. You might even think about things like blackout curtains or sound machines.

  3. Stock up on essentials. Make sure to have all of the essential items your guests may need, such as towels, toiletries, and extra blankets. They may not think to bring things like hair dryers, so providing one would be a nice touch!

  4. Make them feel welcome. Show your guests that you are happy to have them by setting up a welcome basket with a few treats and a little note.

  5. Provide local information. Give your guests a list of nearby attractions, restaurants, and other fun places to visit. There are tons of delicious local restaurants and cute places to shop! Not to mention the reason they are probably in town (besides seeing you), the weather! Send them out on a hike or bike ride! The possibilities are endless.

By following these tips, you can make sure that your home is ready for your out of town guests and that they will have an enjoyable stay.
